fAQ….In lieu of product manuals.
Q: Why aren’t there any product manuals shipped with the units?
A: The short answer is that there really isn’t a need for them. A list of “Do’s” and “Don’ts” is provided below. Secondarily, we are expert at a variety of things, however, desktop publishing isn’t one of them.
Do’s and Don’ts…
NOTE: This applies to all products, when something product specific is necessary, it will be denoted.
DO: Unpack your component with great care.
DO NOT: Use a box cutter or other knife on the shrink wrap as it may come into contact with the piece.
DO: Purchase a power cord of choice. Your choice……., if you think a power cord makes a difference to sound quality, who are we to argue?
DO NOT: Be upset that a $3 molded cord is not included in the box for you to throw out anyway….., every little bit helps the planet.
DO: Try to keep your fingers off of the polished Aluminum plates, they are NOT clear-coated (turns yellow), or anodized (not as shiny). Polish occasionally with the oldest COTTON t-shirt you have.
DO NOT: Use any type of abrasive cleaner on the plates, you will ruin them.
DO: Insert the appropriate tubes as listed/etched into the top plate/s straight up and down, applying as little sideways force as possible, you DO NOT want to damage the tube sockets or the tubes themselves.
DO NOT: EVER insert a tube into a socket that is NOT specifically listed on the top plate of the piece. This will instantly void the warranty. This is one of the reasons that the nomenclature is etched into the piece instead of silk-screened or painted… it will last forever.
DO: Connect your speakers or ancillary components before initial power up.
DO NOT: Power on the unit without a load attached (speakers in the case of an amplifier, an amplifier in the case of a line-stage, a line-stage in the case of a phono-stage, headphones in the case of a head-amp, etc.)
DO: Select the appropriate switch positions for the configuration that best fits your ancillary components/speakers, with the unit OFF.
DO NOT: Flip any switches with the unit ON, other than source selection if that is available on your unit.
DO: ENJOY THE HECK OUT OF YOUR PIECE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL LIFETIMES!
DO NOT: EVER leave your piece “powered on” when not in use……, irrespective of much disinformation spread on the internet that the unit will sound better, or that it is OK, it is NOT OK. If it’s a hassle to flip the switch, plug a power strip into a network enabled device so you can tell Alexa to “turn on the stereo”….
Q: Are these products built exclusively in the U.S.A.?
A: YES, all of our components are built in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A. We are a VETERAN OWNED company, and proud of it. Secondarily, although we make every effort to source all of the materials and parts from US companies, the reality is that many parts are globally sourced. This is NOT a cost-saving measure, the reality is that we are sourcing the VERY BEST components possible…………, and unfortunately many of them are not made in the U.S.A. We all hope that America will return to leading the global market in manufacturing. Someday.
