tanoshi is finally here!

The new “Tanoshi” (Japanese: “Pleasing”) chassis/platform, an homage to the great Japanese valve amplifier designers of the last half a century…

This new platform is approximately 2/3 the size of the existing Transcendence product and will be built to the same exacting level of performance/quality… but with a twist, the layout will reflect the “standard” design/layout ethos of the Japanese masters and will allow for a few new exciting pieces… stay tuned for sneak-peeks of these pieces as they develop. The Tanoshi chassis is the amplifier platform of choice for the lower, plate-dissipation (12W-15W) DHT’s (45, PX4, RE604 and 2a3), the two available SEP configurations (EBL21 or 6V6), the completely redesigned 1626 reference headphone amplifier, and lastly, the new IDHT 27/56 Line-Preamplifier. Exciting!

Tanoshi Stereo “45” Amplifier in Hammertone Burnished Amber on Rosewood/Super Curly White Oak.

Proof-Of-Concept Tanoshi SEP Stereo EBL21 Amplifier built for one of our German/EU customers. This amplifier will be optionally available with the 6V6 power tube….. Stay tuned.

The Tanoshi chassis is also the home for the very short-run Uber-7b Phono Amplifier, and will lend itself to other short-run and one-off products that will become available in the “Ready To Ship” section of this website.

Imagine, the original Saul Marantz 7 phono amplifier circuit, built to a standard that simply wasn't possible 50-60yrs. ago....

update! 10/28/2023

The Tanoshi chassis is the home for a “short”, exclusive run of 5 “Uber-7b” phono-preamplifiers. Featuring all PCB devices matched to 3-places beyond the decimal. This board sounds…. FANTASTIC. The hybrid, tube-rectified power supply…………. Hmm, NOT SO MUCH. Ultimately the noise-floor wasn’t low enough. This is the reason for development, we’ll NEVER ship a product that doesn’t meet our absolute standard of excellence. That said, a super-quiet, linear power supply is under development. It may even be a remote supply, we will see. More info on this very special project will be expanded upon in the new “Now Spinning” section of the website…. Watch for future updates.
