SPINNING THIS WEEK.... 3/19/23 - 3/25/23
Wow……….., it’s a new week already? Great! More vinyl! So this week, OMG!!!!! So absolutely stoked about this “must have” album after only a few spins………., it has inspired me to carry a consistent theme throughout all four selections for the week. Without further ado, check out these selections…………….
Holy-moley, how I missed this when it was released in 2021 I’ve no idea……… it is SPECTACULAR. The songs are groovy, the recording is groovy…………, it is currently my favorite rotating chunk o’black. Plant just seems to get better and better, how is that possible? Obviously I’m a big fan of Alison Krauss as well, solo, with Plant, with Union Station, et al… However, she has a particular symbiosis with Plant that is ethereal. It is just flat-out great music. Find this and buy it immediately, you’ll thank me later. ;)
Yessiree-Bob, Robert Plant, solo (well, not really solo, his band is excellent, as per usual) with a special guest: Chrissie Hynde, on one of the cuts. Released in 2017 I believe this to be a great follow up to his Lullaby……….And The Ceaseless Roar. IMHO you can never have enough Plant, grab this one before it’s out of print. So let’s continue……….
I’m sure this one requires no explanation…., if you don’t own this already, buy it. I think it even won a Grammy? Robert and Alison’s first collaboration with T-bone Burnett, his production style is all over this thing. Simply groovy, this is one of my perennial fav’s. Again, this album is a piece of music that really can’t be categorized, it’s just simply good tunes. On to our last selection of the week…………..
YEAH………, BABY! An entire week dedicated to Robert Plant wouldn’t be replete without my very favorite Zeppelin album. This is a serious “must have”, if Immigrant Song, and Since I’ve Been Loving You (for the Classic Rock Radio folks out there), Out on the Tiles, Gallows Pole, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, and Tangerine (for the “Deep-Cut” folks out there) isn’t enough………., well, I’d be speechless. Beyond doubt an epic record, and after Jimmy’s remastering job, worthy of everyone’s collection. Get it. Till next week, peace, out.
